on a low usage 35 the brake latch rachet will be sharp and not worn into at the top of the triangle ,also the pedals will have 80/90% of the pattern still on ,the engine oil pressure will be 1/2 way up the meter on tickover even when warmed up ,if compression is still good you should be able to remove the dipstick at 1/2 engine revs then count to 10 and see no spits of oil or vaper ,if it is blowing from the tube this is a sign of worn cylinders and gasses blowing past the pistons into the sump and then out the dipstick hole if the dipstick is removed there is a very small chance this could be just a blown cylinder head gasket oil pressure would stay on high mark if this was the only cause. If the tractor has been used for yard scraping most of its life the hydraulic arm joints behind the seat will be very sloppy {eggshaped holes } or will have been replaced with new ones.Oil leaking down the inside of the rear wheels also indicates very high hrs and will result in very poor braking as the oil will be getting on the shoes .IF the tractor has done under 7000 hrs and been maintianed well ,non of the above should show up ,if it has done 10,000 hrs all these things will probably be evident .a v5c reg document that matches the serial nos increases the value and original tinwork even more so .All faults can be repaired on these super little tractors so if the price is right dont be put off but it is very labour intensive, feel free to ring me if you would like more advice |

beware when ordering cheap chinese copy parts from large importers, who don't even know what they're wrapping up to send to you. I have been buying these parts for the past 3 years, and have encountered everything from: poorly fitting panels with mounting holes in completely the wrong places heater senders that register too hot thermostat plugs that won't ignite properly rev meters that won't come back to zero drawbar hitches that sit lopsided headlights that won't stay tight and many parts that do fit, but are a completely different shape to what is wanted. if you ring in to complain, an uncaring company will usually tell you that they've sold hundreds, and not had any other complaints, and if you ask for a replacement they will then follow it up by saying that they have run out of stock at the moment. you will end up, as i have, modifying them to make them fit, or just giving up and throwing them in the scrap. i am a slow learner, but I now use small, independent suppliers, and i stick to brand name parts as much as possible, such as Sparex, QTP, Bepco, and Vapormatic. People I can reccommend are Southern Counties Tractor Spares, Uphill Sales, Dunlop Tractor Parts, R Soper and Sons, and Ron Greet Tractor Spares. I hope this advice has helped. |
